A meteorological center started at the school
Hermann Gmeiner school Mombasa has been identified as one of the meteorological centers within Mombasa, meant to update about the rainfall amount within Mombasa. 'The department has set a rain gauge within the school compound whereby the amount of rainfall collected every day is read and communicated to the tally center ,on a daily basis.
Apart from being a collection center the project has also created a very good avenue for learning subjects like Social Studies and Science . It is a common practice to note teachers assembled at the rain gauge with learners discussing one or two aspects of rainfall and weather.
