                                    GESTURE OF PHILANTHROPY DEMONSTRATED

When the standard five student of Hermann Gmeiner Mombasa realised that one of their classmates -Vincent Omondi had spent almost a week absent from the school it pained them to know what was happening to him. After interrogating their class teacher Mr. Thomas Odeny ,it downed to them that Vincent was taking care of his three siblings after their mother had  fallen sick(she later passed on after a week in hospital)).They took  the initiative of making donations in terms of :food stuffs , clothing and  a number of other household item which they presented to the family .

A few representatives from the class and the teaching staff visited him at their home on the 15th of March purposely to give out the donations and encourage him and the family at large.it was evident that Vincent and the family live in   abject poverty from the observation of the immediate environment.

He is under the bursary scheme offered by the organisation as facilitated by the Family strengthening Programme, but more often than not Vincent is unable to meet all the necessary provisions to enable him school smoothly.sometimes the family cannot afford to raise forty shillings for his transportation to and from the school, an expense not catered for by the bursary.
