PEACE CARAVAN
The SOS mombasa project joined other institutions in Mombasa in a peace caravan meant to sensitise people about the essence of maintaining peace during the forth coming elections.The event was flagged off by the principal of Hermann Gmainer school Mombasa at the SOS Children Village Mombasa on the 26th of February.The event was sponsored by organisation in conjunction with:Mombasa Aviation college,Sheik Sayyid Children`s home,Modern Coast Bus Services ,Uniq driving school, among others.
The caravan transversed through Mtwapa,Shanzu, Bamburi ,Kisauni, Mombasa city,Bombululu and back to the starting point-Mombasa village . The standard six pupils who represented the school preached peace by displaying placards with peace messages during and after the elections.The commentator ,Mr. Mbaluka one of very accomplished Kiswahili teacher kept on reminding the residents on the need of maintaing peace insisting that it is the citizens who will decide to maintain peace since violence is very costly.
