THE WORLD MATEOROLOGICAL DAY MARKED.
SOS Hermann Gmainer School Mombasa ,was privileged to host other schools and officials from the meteorological department in Mombasa to mark the world meteorological day on the 23-03-2014.
Candidates from three schools namely: KGS Joy Academy, Frere Town primary and the host gathered at the school where various issues pertaining to weather and climate where discussed.The theme of this year`s celebrations:Climate Change Engaging the Youth, was meant to sensitise young people on the need to conserve the environment since the climatical changes entirely depended on the environmental factors.At the same time, the day gave an opportunity to the officials of the department to have their first visit since the time they identified SOS school to be one of the rainfall collection center a year ago. They appreciated the work done by the science department to insure that rainfall records reached them at appropriate time daily.
